In August? When the accommodation is full of other people's children and the roads are full of caravans, campervans or family cars with so many duvets in them that they can't see out of the windows?
My recommendation is that you go somewhere else....... or hang on and go in September......
(but if you must, we went to Ravenglass which is a bit out of the way, and stayed in a pub called the Holly House Hotel which was cheap but good) ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Can thoroughly recommend this place https://www.pinesingleton.com/ have stayed there twice now. Bike parking can be arranged in their large locked garage.
On the edge of the Dales and only a few miles, on good roads, from the Lake District. ____________________ www.angliaroadtraining.com

I stayed in this place 3 years ago for 3 nights in September and it was pretty good, although did have to park the bike on the street. Short walk into the town, bike friendly owners and good breakfasts - and no doilies in sight!
