The BCF BBQ guys might agree that some of the roads in the cotswolds were awesome! East midlands has its fair share of good roads particularly between Melton Mowbray, Donnington Park and Mallory Park.

Camber sands road is another good one but a bit flat and often has its fair share of unwanted traffice.

If you're based in london you either need to head to kent/sussex border or up west to the cotswolds.

Unfortunately you're all wrong so far if you've said any roads in England or Wales because all of the truely excellent roads in the UK are in Scotland.

Back in 2005 when myself Robby and Bendy went touring Scotland we rode from Skye to Glasgow and we rode some crazy route that snaked through a wide glacial valley. I can't remember what road it is, but I'd wager its a thousand times better than any road in England or Wales.

I live a stones throw from Wales, Peninnes, Peaks and all have brilliant roads, but I am smitten with the west coast of Scotland. I love steep hills and tight hair pins on very narrow tracks

There arnt many good roads local to me in Dorset, but I have found myself using the Bridport coast road very frequently.

A lot of really big hills, twists turns, and beautiful coastline

The A4074 between Reading and Oxford is a nice stretch of road if you like long straights and sweepers, plus there's a brilliant downhill moment which allows for some crazy multiple overtakes throttle on the stop accelerating. Lovely when the traffic is low.

The A93 in Scotland is one of the best roads I've ever ridden, but all the A and B roads pealing off from it are just as good, if not better.

If you want good roads, head to The Cairngorms National Park. It's heaven.

Two videos I filmed on the A93:

I'd +1 that, some top roads out that way as well. I now live in Bexhill so generally choose East/West/North for Eastbourne/A22, Ninfield and up or Rye. It's a bit of a coin toss before a ride.

Anything North of Loch Lomond and West of Inverness. The more North and West the better.

Plenty in Mid Wales.

A few in Leicestershire/Lincolnshire/Notts but the more well known ones are getting more police presence or 40/50 limits. Still entirely possible to put together a 50 to 100 mile 'lap' with a mix of roads and keeping mostly away from artifically low speed limits.

The A87. You can take it all the way from Invergarry to Uig if you like, or just to Kyle. It's all good.
