Hi

I have recently managed to modify my bandit.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

https://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n521/dragstaar/IMG-20110726-00101.jpg

That's right. This lovely modification was done by riding it head first into a lampost.

Was coming round a corner at 12.30 last night, hit a pothole, lost control. Standard issue of Target fixation, and ploughed straight into a lampost. Luckily I jumped off seconds before and missed the post, but sadly, Angie the bandit is fucked.

I loved that bike. And I am now bikeless, and probably will be for a while.

Bloke in a van stopped and offered to bring it home for me, 10 min drive, gave him a score and sent him on his way.

Luckily I'm okay, bruised ego, sprained groin, but nothing more.

Letter to the council?
I’m in the process of writing a shitty one to my council. Total lack of control on the road conditions. It’s shocking.
Anyways, glad you’re alright man, must have looked crazy from a witness perspective (if any) Thumbs Up

I'm assuming that the OP has not informed anyone of the incident here....
If the council find out who damaged the lampost the OP will end up with a rather large bill for replacement......

But then what about the pothole that caused the loss of control that caused damage to lamp post?

Oh Bugger off! really?? I hadn't even thought of that!

Well the lampost looked fine after I ploughed into it. It was quite a high kerb, so the front wheel/rim took the major hit, and I think the bike semi flipped/endo'd into the lampost after.

If i get a bill they can fuck right off, the lampost was fine. Besides, I dont think there were any cameras.

Funniest this is, there was an ambulance with 2 paramedics in it on the other side of the road. I ploughed into the lampost, and was standing there, looking around for help. Ambulance doesn't move. Then after about 10 mins, ambulance just drives away! Not even an "are you alright".

Thing is, there were no witnesses as such, but there was a guy on a scooter (you can see his hands picking up shards) and he turned up to see if I was okay. He wasn't even on the same road, but he said: "All i heard was a sexy exhaust and I was thinking, mmm yeah, that sounds good. But then I hear this screech of tyres and a crash, so I came round to see if everything was okay".

Was good of him. I suppose what comes around goes around.

See: clickety

Lucky you weren't hurt there!

Looks like front-end superficialness? What parts do you need to repair it - we could all have a look around!

i would write to the council though, its worth a shot. my mate buckled his alloy on a pothole and the council eventually paid for a replacement

Bad times man Sad but hey at least you can street fight it, theres more aftermarket tat for Bandits than you can shake a stick at.

Sorry for the Thread Hijack, but DXB, I don't know why but that looks pretty nice to me, much better than the tail chop I was considering. Noticed the rear mudguard and undercarriage are gone so where'd you put the Battery, CDI and Fuses?
