I was involved in an accident which wasnt my fault on tuesday. I wasnt hurt to badly just mild whiplash & bruising but the paint & bodywork of my scooter was damaged. I have been calling the company who owns the vehicle at fault & I should hear back today. Im just not sure if I should tell my insurance company? From what I have been reading & heard my premiums will go up even though it wasnt my fault. Would things be easier if I went through my insurers? Will my premiums go up? Thanks

Yeppers.

If they try to put your premiums up then bitch at them cos you are not at fault and you are not claiming on your policy.

1st call is to the police, 2nd to your insurer.

Police should come make statements, without these... an insurance claim is a ball ache.

Your insurer needs to know about it anyway...as it will be them vs the other insurer if you get what I mean.

The other guy will say it was your fault, it always happens Laughing

Your premiums aren't affected too bad actually. I've got a fair few non faults with large sums and if I remove them from my car policy it doesn't change the price.
