Hi

I suspected my bike got pushed / dropped at some time. But I have since noticed that the handlebars appear to be bent. I someone else looked at it and the right side appears to be nearly 2 inches higher than the left.

So now I need to replace the handlebars.

My friends dad said he will fit the handlebars, I just need to order them

Can anyone recommend where I can get a standard set of Kawasaki ER-6F 2009 Handlebars (The actual bar itself is bent somehow)

Although it's possible they are bent, sometimes a minor spill will just make the forks sit unevenly in the yokes.

Before changing the bars I would loosen all the yoke clamp bolts holding the right hand fork leg (usually four bolts in all two at the top yoke, two at the bottom yoke), grab the front brake lever and bounce the bike up and down a few times. Retighten the bolts and do the same for the left hand fork.

The bike was checked when it went for a service and my mates dad is pretty good with bike mechanics, they appear to be bent on the right bend from the centre. I don't have the bike at work today but if you look you can see the bars are actually bent.

Best quote I had so far is £75 from a Alfs Motorcycles in Worthing (Kawasaki dealer)

If they are bent then change them. Check gayBay for used ones and consider aftermarket brands like renthal; however if the originals were fine for you then I'd be inclined to try and find some used originals.

I dont know enough about bike bars to know what or where to get them

I like the position I am riding at now. i know someone who had a 08 ER-6F and they got lowered sports bars, which forced them to lean forward more on the bike, but he found it too uncomfortable, I tried it and my god, sports bars on the ER6 don't work

I used wemoto, they don't have the handle bars for the ER-6 (I even emailed them)

I am not sure what replacements I can get

aye I saw them. + £19.95 delivery. so £55. Would rather pay the £75 at the shop, then I know they are legit and will arrive in time.

I'd be inclined to go for a set of Renthals as they are often stronger than OEM bars. Take a few measurements of the originals and look on the Renthal site for a close match.

Close match is the important bit here. If you go for a different shape of handlebar, you have a good chance of being very uncomfortable or drastically altering the feel of the bike. Always surprising how much difference an inch makes.

Talking of changing handle-bars, as you lot were Smile

I have a very non-standard Sachs XTC 125, It came with wider than standard after-market handle-bars?
Although I hav`nt ridden it much, It felt really strange to ride with them on.
After an unfortunate mishap ( I fecking dropped it Evil or Very Mad ) I had to change the bars for a shorter pair I had in the garage.
It changes the way you ride it ie a bit more leaning (shifting body-weight) to turn and the whole bike appears to be a bit better to ride? Smile . ?
