Cost of roads

Hi

Few days ago there was a bit on the news about the new Hindhead tunnel. The cost of the tunnel was given as £72k per metre.

Sounds a hell of a lot, but then building a long tunnel isn't cheap.

For comparison the initial HS2 (the high speed rail link) plans are for 180km @£16.5bn. A shade over £91k per metre (possibly including rolling stock).

I believe the Limehouse Link tunnel held the record for the most expensive road per metre, I wonder if that's been beaten.
