Mod 1 on YBR125 Possible or not?

After riding my YBR125 for a couple of months I want something with a bit more power, so want to do my DAS but on a budget. Is it okay to take the Mod1 on a YBR125 as after reading up about its offroad so was thinking about doing my Mod1 on this and then pay a bike company to take me through my Mod2 would this be the best route?

Having taken my Motorbike tests recently, as far as I am aware you have to take both modules on the same sub category of motorbike.

So if you want to do your DAS you have to take Mod 1 on the DAS bike as well as your Mod 2.

Do mod1 and 2 on the YBR, simple. Perfect bike for it.

I believe proper DAS is a 46hp bike? Might be accelerated access.

Why do DAS?

DAS on a budget is a restricted licence lol

If you want something with a bit more power, and a bit more poke then the ybr, 33bhp is plent.y

Just do a normal restricted licence, its cheaper. only 15 for mod 1 and 75 for mod 2. You will probably have to get a few lessons, but not many and you can do it on your own ybr.

Anyway, after that you can get a 250 ninja or even a 1200 gxr ( with restriction) Lots more poke then a ybr...

OP, do mod1 and 2 on your YBR, you'll be restricted to 33hp.
To do DAS, book in with a riding school, they'll give you a 500 and you can ride unrestricted, providing your are old enough.

Thanks for all your replys. I have just booked my theory test for 13th August so hopefully if everything goes to plan I could even have my A2 license by September Razz

Might be an idea to choose a few candidates and see if anyone wants to warn you off them. I can't imagine you'll get many bad reports for any 500-650cc commuter / sports-commuter bike that doesn't require Ludicrous Revs.

Just the usual nit: you'll sit your test on an A2 class bike, which will get you an A license with a 2 year <=25kW endorsement. There's currently no such thing as an A2 license, but there will be after January 2013 (with a 35kW limit that doesn't expire) so it's as well to get the terminology right.
