Hi,

I have a Triumph Trophy 1200 and when I depress the back brake pedal, the brake light takes a few seconds, sometimes up to 6 seconds. Front brake works fine.
Someone said that it might be the brake switch that needs adjusting. Anyone know if it can be adjusted and how to do it, or does it need replacing?

Thanks for your help!

Mike

Most rear brake switches are a simple electric switch that are usually connected to the pedal by a spring, dead easy to strip, clean and adjust......but....I've seen a pressure type switch fitted to the banjo outlet of the master cylinder on a Triumph before now.
If it was that type that could explain the delay, a bit sticky so it takes a few seconds of fluid pressure before it moves and activates. Have a look round the brake pedal and master cylinder to see what type you have, external simple switch is easy to sort, if it is a pressure switch I haven't got a clue if they are a sealed unit or can be stripped and cleaned.
