Hey

I bought my ER6-F in 2009 (brand new so 2009 model)

I admit I have not got out on it much, only just clocked 7k miles.

Anyway, I noticed the tyre worn on the front, BEFORE the rear.
AND the tyre wear was uneven. Was worn to the right side but ok to the left.

Someone suggested the tyre was slightly deflated, causing an issue.
Someone else suggested the alignment of the forks was to blame. They just need tightning.

Both resulted in a new tyre. so i went to a place which was highley recommended to me.

The mechanic changing the tyre said there was a known fault with that particular model of Bridgestone. He even showed me one in the garage which showed a similar wear pattern. He said the right is worn more as I must corner harder to the right than I do left.

has anyone else heard of this fault?? I am trying to find information on this to confirm / deny the mechanics story.

All bike tires in the UK will wear more on the right than the left, Every single one.

Some clever bunny will work out why. Wink

Sounds like a BT023.

They all wear funny like that. I've changed loads over the past few years and i dont think i've ever seen one that wore 'normally'.

Well he put a BT-023GT. said its better, shouldn't have issues. So was the 023 the earlier (faulty) model

He said that is why they bought out a BT-023GT

I've had both BT020s and more recently, BT021s on mine ('06 ER-6f) and have never noticed anything like this. Soz.

Helpful, I realise.

My Kwak does 250+ miles a week, so I really need longevity.

BT016 is an awesome tyre, but as rightly pointed out they dont last long!

Dunlop Roadsmart/Sportsmart are meant to be hardwearing as well as grippy enough.
Thumbs Up
