Hi

I drained my oil last night thinking that the oil that ordered from ebay would be at my doorstep today but no joy, is it ok to leave the bike with no oil in it untill it turns up or is this a no go

Cheers Steve

Can't see it being an issue. Oil sticks to metal pretty good....so the blurb says.

It will be fine, the oil will have coated everything in theory aslong as it is stored inside rather than out I dont see there being a problem.

No probs.

If you think about it logically, you will see that everytime you switch off your engine, that engine is then sitting with no oil in it, apart from that very small amount which coats the parts. The only component of your engine that contains oil is the sump. So, dont worry, no damage is being done.

When you next start up after refilling flick the kill switch and turn it over for a couple of seconds. that should get the oil moving without any load on the engine.

As said chances are its a non issue and probably makes no difference but always makes me feel better.

No it won't . Clutches don't sit in a bath of oil even when the engine is 'full'.

OP - don't worry about it, no harm will be done.

Two strokes don't have litres of oil in the bottom ends, and they are generally OK. Although, they are suceptible to condensation because at least one of the ports are normally open.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

My CBR's currently sitting outside under a cover with a smashed sump, and a puddle of white creamy oil underneath it.

I think you're in a better boat than i am.

It's considerably cheaper to buy online generally.
