I was just browsing the threads in the biking news section and there were 3 depressing accounts of bikers dead or fucked up. I dont want to sound rude but when will people STFU and stop prophesying blood and guts for us all. i have 3 problems with these kind of people:

1 - Im an adult, i know a bike is a little bit more dangerous than a car, but shit, i like it. If you dont, get a pushbike and GTFO.

2 - Biking is meant to be fun. The more you whinge and whine, the more speed limits, restrictions, cameras and warnings we're all gonna get "for our own protection".

3 - Its boring.

Btw, i dont have a problem with people giving first hand experiences with spills. While the bones are healing and the bike is pieced back together you gotta do something right? No its the 'please be careful some guy died today' types i hate. Really fuckin pointless. Rant over, Discuss.

Good rant. Thumbs Up I agree.

It's undoubtedly sad when anybody dies prematurely, and it's appropriate to be respectful. But it's entirely unnecessary to dwell on every motorcycle related death as though we must all suddenly regroup as a collective and once again contemplate our own mortality in some melodramatic ritual.

I know the risks of motorcycling. I pays my money and makes my choice. And I stick with that choice unless and until I decide otherwise. I'm not going to ride any more or less carefully just because I'm all of a sudden aware that some complete strangers died this week in some entirely unknown circumstances whilst they happened to be motorcycling.

Either get the f*ck on with it or get the f*ck out of it.

If I snuffed it while out on my bike, then at least it was doing something I love! There is one other way I wouldn't mind going too Wink

Part of me agrees, but another part of me doesn't.

Despite the introduction of CBT, there are still too many cocks riding about, and it doesn't do any harm to remind them of their vulnerability.

These fools often wear minimal clothing 'to look cool' and learn the hard, nasty, floor scraping way. Soon sort's the boys from the men. Thumbs Up

I was an instructor with a novice training scheme, many years before it was compulsory.

One of my specialist subjects was kit and I used to conduct regular visits to the local major hospital, when I got tipped off that there was a new patient with hands like the dark side of the moon, or legs that looked like they'd been vigorously attacked with an angle grinder.

Not surprisingly, my students would often turn up to the next session wearing proper gloves and boots.............funny that......... Wink

Our local rag feels the need to have full page spreads and the life story of the rider every time a biker dies.
Anyone else rarely gets a mention.
