What next project...;..... something a bit different!

I am under the illusion that the Sach XTC 125 project is all but done and will be going for it`s MOT very soon as I now have access to a trailer .
The XS 400 only needs the float heights adjusting and I will be sending that off for an MOT also
The CG 125 of lovelyness is going to have to find a new home at some time over the winter, it`s just to small for me

All this leaves me with a gapping hole in my garage that needs to be filled with a dirty old shitty wreck of a bike for me to spend the next 6 months/a year screaming and shouting at whilst I empty my wallet trying desperately trying to get it to go

I want something a little bit different and NOT a plastic missile.
So I`m thinking along the lines of a MZ or CZ or an old two-stroke Jap bike?

So mighty BCF can you come up with a few ideas (sensible please )

what about an old mz 250 hump tank?They'd make a great cafe racer and come complete with ally yolks,enclosed chaincase and a good engine?The tanks are ugly though.
Tweaking the engine could be cheap fun.

Receipe for an excellent project:
Start with something as comically shit as possible.
Add as many cylinders with as few strokes as possible.
Polish the fuck out of it.
Make it go faster.
Stick on and bits of plastic that make the bike look like you want to have sex with it.
Get bored and decide to turbo charge it.
Leave it half finished for all eternity.

I think a bike powered by a home made gas turbine is WELL overdue, but then i'm strange like that.

in my motorbike build dreams of many years I've always fancied getting a decent middleweight frame and putting a dumper truck deisel engine in it.
Another one was putting a honda 250rs single engine in a cb100n.

That is no doubt cool, but i don't like the cylinders quite so far out wide, so perhaps it would be better done with a motoguzzi or CX500?

Those airhead boxer engines are beautiful things to work on, about as simple a design as you can get for a 4banger. I got to the point where I could remove the cylinder heads on my dnepr mt11/bmw R100 frankenbike inside of 30 mins. (With the sidecar attached) Valve clearances can be done in 5-10 minutes, points are easy to set on older ones-especially if you get the boyer points activated electronic ignition.

Cheap parts too!

Bultaco Sherpa is well supported in Classic Trials, & Sammy miller does nearly enough bits to build a brand new one!
Same basic bike and 'bits' you'd just need to detail it out as a road racer....
