Hi all - first post here and it's a cry for help!

I've (or rather my girlfriend has) got a CBR125 with a Datatool System 3 Alarm. She's not riding it very often at the moment after a lovely car driver changed lanes onto her a couple of months ago and so consequently it seems that every time we go to use it the battery is dead (either from the alarm drain or heated handgrips that don't seem to turn on).

Usually I can bump start it fine and this morning seemed no different. I got it started did a couple of miles and headed home.

The problem is that when I tried to start it again the battery obviously hadn't fully charged as it wouldn't start and the alarm went off. Which would have been fine, but I couldn't turn the alarm off. No matter how much, how hard or which button I pressed, the bike alarm wouldn't respond to the fob.

Eventually after an earbashing few minutes the alarm turned itself off, but now every time I turn the ignition on or open the rear compartment the alarm goes off and stays on until it times out. The key fob still does nothing and I'm not really sure what I can do.

I've tried changing the battery in the fob and this has had no effect. I've tried holding down both buttons for 10s (well 30s actually) to reset the alarm, but no luck. I've tried numerous combinations of ignition on and off and pressing button, but all I achieved was a ringing in my ears.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Base

Yep what hetzer said, there is a users guide for the alarms here. Follow the intructions or you might spike the alarm and it's a hassle you can do without.
