Have come across this digital dash / datalogger and for only £190, including all the fittings, etc...
Seems a bit too good to be true... surely?

Their advertising gumph:"It has every standard instrumentation feature along with data acquisition, on-screen graphing, gear indication, a programmable gear change light, lap timing, a full graphics display, 0-60mph/60-0mph timing functions, configurable display options and much more."

Anyone seen or better still tried one?
Am seriously tempted although my latest bike prob vibrates too much for it to stay onboard for long! Sad

No help, but; I have been tempted by one of these for my zx9, and maybe to slap on the r6 track bike as well.

So, if anyone has had any experiences with them, I'd also be interested to hear.

For the money it is good value, but not amazing.
It's basically a souped up mountain bike speedo. They should be able to produce one for this sort of price, but so far hasn't as this sort of thing has so far only been used by racers (probably due to the high price Smile ).

What is your latest bike by the way?

I wonder how big the screen is? Looks Ok i suppose, and for only £190.

Someone buy one and tell us what its like... Or find an unbiased review somewhere. Wink

Yeah i wonder how it'll measure the BHP/torque as well. Confused

Theres a review of it in the latest PB magazine.

Quote:
Good points:a gadget thats fun, cool and useful with stacks of features
Bad points:needs to be more robust
Verdict:useful bit of kit but be gentle with it.

Its about the size of a GSXR rev counter, so similar to a fag packet. They lost both the magnets that attatch to the rear sprocket, it isn't waterproof, its permanantly wired to the battery with no off switch and it randomly stopped working a few times.

You could wire in a switch and waterproof it. But quiality may be a bit on the sus. side...maybe Question

To be expected maybe becuase of the relaively low price...

from the FAQ :-

Q2: How can you calculate horsepower with only a speed, acceleration and RPM sensor?

Horsepower is basically the product of your speed, acceleration and weight. Veypor knows your acceleration and speed but you must enter the vehicle and rider/driver weight. The vehicle weight can usually be found in the user manual or from your dealer. Just add that to your body weight and input it into the Veypor configuration.

A mate of mines got one of these, there are two things that let it down; firstly it's very small so not the easiest thing to look at whilst riding, secondly the speedo refreshes too often the same as cycle computers so you can't get an accurate reading. Apart from these points it's a bargain for what you get being able to download all the data onto your computer etc.

I was going to get one for my Hornet as I've taken the clocks etc. off but was advised to get a cycle comuter from Halfords for £10. Also looked at the speedo thingy on the Suzuki DR400? but that was £700 +VAT Shocked

However, Veypor are currently reviewing the refreshing problem so expect a newer version sometime soon.

I'd strongly reccomend the Trail Tech Panoram enduro speedo... nice big display, lots of functions, changeable between two bikes (with two settings on the computer.. two mount kits required though..)

Does mileage, good speed, it's designed for off road use so very durable etc.. and only costs £60 I think for the kit..

I'll post the link up later tonight if anyone is interested..

The WR is about to be treated to one and I know numerous people who have them on their motards, and a couple have tried them on sports bikes with great success.. better than any push bike speedo (although technically the same thing... but push bike speedos are very problematic as they aren't designed for use on a motorbike!)

Go to

https://www.dirtbikedepot.com/store/erol.html

Click the link on the left for "Trail Tech Products"

That's the computer + various billet mounts available..

The first link is for the computer itself and has the info on it...

They are strongly reccomended .. most of us at the supermoto club use them and only one was faulty, but that was replaced under warranty...

Avoid the billet bracket that mounts under the bar clamps as apparantly someone killed 2 units using that mount, but when he ditched the mount the speedo works fine to this day...

The computer can also be programed with service information, mostly for supermoto/enduros so a little warning pops up every 200 miles (or whatever you set...) telling you to check/change the oil etc etc...

It's very accurate too...

5/5!

Thanks for the advice..
Will be getting me one of those Trail Tech thingies instead, then. And maybe a Veypor in the future when they sort the refresh rate and I've got my trackbike back.

Cheers.
