I have 32cm shocks eye to eye, I've been thinking of putting another tasty pair on, only trouble is the ones I'm looking at are 29cm.

Whats the effect of putting lower shocks on and what are the things to watch out for? I'd rather it not end in disaster!

You will lower the rear and increase the angle of rake on your forks, this will make cornering slower and it will require more input ( think old school choppers).

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Hi

In addition to the effects on handling Ariel Badger mentions, it will also make the bike far harder to put onto the centre stand (if it has one) and lean over a fair bit more on the side stand.

Shorter shocks will likely mean less travel (either from being firmer, or from being the same or softer and hitting the bump stops).

All the best

Keith

lean over less i would have thought?

cos the frame is sitting lower to the ground, so the stand will touch down earlier.

Yep, sorry.

All the best

I've seen them for sale for bikes up to 400cc - Superfours, 400 bandits etc.

Good idea but not sure I could get away with that on my bike. May ruin the look.

I'm going to leave them and get some proper height ones then.

Just thought there maybe an advantage in it. To be fair they're only an inch smaller but anyway.
