My Suzuki GS500 runs fine on PRI but when i put it onto regular it eventually slugs along then dies.

Would this be a blockage or something more serious?

Also can i flood my carb if left on PRI too long when not in use? or is it more if i leave it standing for a while, as the bike is used everyday.

I'm quite mechanically minded and have a 'howtodoeverything' manual so suggestions can be checked Thumbs Up

Karma for answers Very Happy

Hello,
Probably got a vacuum operated fuel tap which relies on the engine running to open it. The prime position manually opens the tap for when you have run out of fuel.

Check the vacuum hose is connected to the inlet stub on the head. It may have become disconnected. If its on ok, Put the petrol tap on, disconnect the petrol hose. No fuel should come out, then disconnect the vacuum hose from the engine and suck on the end, fuel should then flow. If not, its the tap at fault.

Disclaimer about fuel and you burning yourself Ect.

Cheers

+1 with Stalk

vacuum hose, or a blockage in the fuel line/filter

How long before it cuts out? if you have a spare key stick it in the tank and go for a run. When it wants to cut out open the filler and if it picks up again then its the tank breather. A squirt of air in the vent should do the trick.
