Going there in a few weeks for a weeks holiday.

Anything worth looking at whilst I am there?, good restaurants, clubs, pubs?

The Sea Life centre always used to be good - although i've not been there for quite a few years now.

Not sure if its still there, but along the seafront.. there is a "ride" basically you sit strapped in and they fire you into the sky on what looks like a massive elastic band Laughing

It was HILARIOUS after scoffing all you can eat chinese and downing 2 cans of cheap red bull.

DO NOT recommend the last bit... Laughing

Thats the one for me, nothing like projectile vomitting whilst 20ft up and catching it on the way back down!

Yarmouth is much "nicer"* now than it used to be, but the thing you should really be looking for once there is the sign that says "You are now leaving Great Yarmouth"

I live in Norwich though, so wtf do I know?!?

*"Nicer" used in the loosest sense of the phrase, a bit like saying HIV is nicer than AIDS.

Its ok for the day, or overnight if you find a nice hotel, but i wouldnt stay there any longer than that.

As with most seaside towns nowadays, it just seems like its been built then left to rot. There are some nice bars and a shit load of arcades on the front.

The indoor crazy golf near the Sea Life centre is fun and the Pleasure Beach is good if you take the kids.

There are plenty of cheap B&Bs and also a huge Haven at the bottom of the strip. I can personally recommend a hotel called "78". Quite pricey but is quite a nice place to stay.

I think that there is a massive, pirate-themed crazy golf course on the seafront somewhere. Good place to fall out with the o/h for being too competitive Embarassed

NSFW https://www.angelsclub.co.uk/home.html

Other than that, the pirate themed crazy golf is a great laugh and the sealife centre is okay, if not a little small compared to the likes of scarborough etc.

Pop down to the broads for a day and hire a little boat. I used Whispering Reeds last time I was there. The broads speed limits are 5mph, 4mph in some places, so all the boats are limited to 5mph, which is nice as it gives you plenty of time to look at the scenery, but you will need to hire one for at least 3 hours to get anywhere interesting. They provide lifejackets for everyone, including little ones (my lad was 20months old and they had one for him). I believe under 16s have to wear them by law, but adults can take them off if they wish. There's also a nice pub just next to the boat hire place that does a decent meal and has a beer garden on the banks of the hickling broad. The day we went the weather wasn't great, but we still had a great laugh on the water... here's some pics of me and my little lad on the boat:

Funnily enough, I reckon he's doomed, he looks just like me when I was his age!

We're just back from a week in Leitrim in Ireland, the cottage we were in came with a boat and again he had a dashing little life jacket on!

Here he is in complete control of the boat:

Boat hire, think the strip club won't go down very well!

There's loads of places that hire them out. Potter Heigham is very pretty and does boat hire. The only thing that put me off them was the fact the boats were electric last time I used them (albeit 8years ago) and I prefer something with a proper engine. Wroxham is a little bigger, with a few more shops to walk around etc and you can hire day boats there too. It is a really fun day out and it's a great feeling being in control of a boat! Feels very manly when you jump off a moving boat to moor it up!

just up the coast is a tiny place called horsey theres a cracking pub called the lord nelson looks a bit scruffy but has the best food for miles (and the best gammon ive ever had)

southwold is about 40 minutes drive and there is a brewery called adnams and a pub just down the road called the sole bay arms that sells about ten different types of adnams beer

there is a place called wroxham near were they do broad tours on big boats two hours for about 6 quid a person and you get to know the history of them if your into that sort of thing

dont go into the olympus cafe we popped into it once for lunch and had green mold in our cheese (jacket spud and cheese cob)

we stayed on the same site as you about four years ago DO NOT put toaster kettle and fire on at the same time Laughing Embarassed the lights will go out and you have to walk to reception to get them back on again it was november and raining and cold Rolling Eyes

also i dare you to go into the wind project hut on the front and pretend your interested my father in law was stuck for over half an hour talking to the bloke Laughing

And I did indeed try it, and it didn't happen, so I switched EVERYTHING on...that did the trick!

Again thank you for all your ideas, did alot of fun but I have to be honest, the most fun thing we did was the Banger/hotrod racing on the sunday night, that was so much fun!
