As above found this on a bit of land I visited today, looks like it hasn't been moved for many years. If, as I suspect the owner doesn't want it, is it worth being a project or is it more trouble than its worth? I only had a quick look whilst driving past but I think it said 400 before the ypvs

Looks like a Suzuki GSX550EF to me, maybe if it's an import it could be a GSX400EFE, probably mid 80s vintage.

Like shaft says, looks like a gsx400 or similar.

The ypvs sticker has just been slapped on there and has nothing to do with that bike as it isn't a yamaha or a two stroke lol.

That bike looks rather rough. I wouldn't bother.

Well, this is a GSX550

https://img695.imageshack.us/img695/5605/gsx550efeseusuzukibike.jpg

Looks pretty similar to me.

Are you absolutely certain it said YPVS?

If it did, I reckon it's a red herring, but they all had stupid acronyms then, could be you were mistaken and it was a bit of Suzuki techno bollox.

Edit: Tremeluchus is dead right, it ain't a Yamaha or a stroker, so there's no YPVS on that, whatever the sticker says.

Would do a HPI check before i even put my finger prints on it, handling stolen goods is as bad if not worse than actually stealing it.

might even be a chance to let someone know where their bike disappeared to, it definitely appears to be a gsx400 in which case its not worth the bother of working on but may be worth petrol money for someone who needs a wheel or fairing or summat if its not stolen, i'll see what turns up from the person who owns the land and if the parts can be given to keep someone's bike running then at least its not going to waste

Might be worth dropping Stelmer a PM, I believe he's got a GSX550 that got damaged in shed fire, so he might be up for a cheap spares bike.

Engine cover's off, probably knackered unless someone needed a cover.

Stripped for spares you could probably get a hundred or two, but given the lack of a plate I'd probably just remove any bits I could make easy money on (like the rectifier) and dump it in the scrap.
