Now then. I've had my fair share of cheap Chinese bike shit and I've stayed away from any bits and bobs of dubious origin. However, I recently bought a new Michelin rear tyre from fleabay only for the courier to lose it. I didn't pay a huge amount for it - £50. A new one will be double.
A quick hunt around for another tyre saw most rears (in my budget) around the £90 mark. However, I came across a pair of CST Adreno's for a £125.
A quick googling confirmed these are Chinese (arrrghhhh) tyres. I tried to find some reviews. What I found was 2 or 3 posts in different forums from people who claimed what a surprisingly adequate tyre this was - followed by the usual (and expected) negativity and anti-Chinese bikers who wouldn't touch them with a barge pole - but didn't have any experience with them so maybe not the best 'reviewers'?
So I'm wondering if there's anyone here with any experience with this specific brand. Whether you've ridden on them, or you've seen some shredded to bits along with the biker.
Obviously the tyres are the last thing I should be cutting corners on, but if these tyres have a good write-up then I don't really want to disregard them based on the reviews of different Chinese products. ____________________ '10 Skyjet SJ125-23 - Crashed > '09 YBR 125 > '53 Suzuki SV650 - Died > 2010 Suzuki VanVan 125 > '87 Yamaha FZ750 Sold > VTR 1000 FireStorm - Sold > Honda CB1000R |
