Do you subscribe or do you buy at the newsstand?

I get my monthy copy of Bike @ the local record store as there's not much difference in the newsstand and subscription price. Lets me excercise my fear of commitment without hurting anyones feelings. Wink

*edit - I can't spell 'magazine' on the first try.

No idea which I buy the most, tend to get a couple of Fast Bikes, Superbike, Performance Bikes and sometimes RiDe or Bike dependant on if there is a feature I'm wanting to read and it's too long to read in the shop. Razz Read MCN sometimes as well. Don't subscribe to any of them.

I don't read any with any regularity, just buy one when I'm bored. Or when I'm in one. Wink

I must have spent at least 100 quid buying BIKE for the 4 years i've been reading it (on and off) and i find it to be the most "useful" or appealing to me - occasionally i buy RIDE as they have some cool pointers. I would have saved a lot more if i managed to get a subscription, but as ive been reading that mag since i was 12, i didn't have a debit card then Crying or Very sad , so i had to make do with the 3.20 then 3.50 then 3.70 monthly affair.... earned me lots of WH Smith points too!!! Very Happy

I used to buy pretty much all the main mags ( pb, fast bikes, superbike, bike, ride, two, mcn, supermoto mag) but I recently was buying them and not reading them.. I still have some mags left in their wrappers they usually come in...

I think that PB, fast bikes and superbike are all pretty much the same old same old... and it's not worth buying all 3, they are the same, just chose the best freebies Laughing

RiDE and Bike are much more "up market" mag with better reviews and features etc... I do like RiDE mag quite a bit.. lots of useful info with regard to clothing, parts, accessories etc.

TWO I don't bother with anymore as I don't think it's all that great.

MCN isn't that brilliant either, generally buy it look at the pics then ditch it...

If I had to chose then I'd get RiDE and Performance bikes every month - which is pretty much what I'm doing now.. they are the best out of the bunch IMO.. but if one of the other mags has a decent feature or giving away something decent and useful (like the disc lock, also seen neck tube things too)....

So, RiDE and PB get a Thumbs Up

All the others are good, but pretty much all the same...

I regularly read TWO, Bike and PB. I occasionally read Ride.
I prefer TWO, because it's written with a sense of humour.
PB is more of a bike-porn mag, which irks me, when I want a porn mag i'll go and buy one.
Ride is okay, but seems to have more facts and less personality to it.

None of the above.

A regular of BSH and 100% biker though, at least they write about the sort of lifestyle I enjoy, rather than pandering to the weekend wannabes.

Ditto...

Did you "feel the quality"? Convinced me hands down to purchase said magazine over a £10 buff Very Happy
The only mags I'm subscribed to are ones which are difficult to get hold of, Strad magazine and Guiding Monthly (that one's free though Thumbs Up )

I did have a subscription to RiDE but got bored of it. Since then I've been buying PB but I'm getting bored of that too. It seems to be drifting too far to te shit that is Superbike. Bike and TWO I've bought on occaision and found TWO to be the better one.
