the owner of the company I work for is looking for someone to take his 3 point from a recent speeding offence.

Cheeky bugger probably expects someone to take them for free, but I might take them for cash.

Question is how much ?

I doubt he would pay up, but it's got me thinking.

I'm thinking between £250 and £500.

Dont be silly.

Think about how long they are gonna be on your licence and how much your insurance is gonna increase.

Not to mention it's against the law..............charge him £250 per point and his left nut as collateral.

going rate round here is £150 per point, if you have a clean license I don't thinki insurers are too fussy over 3 points, don't hold me to that though is just what I've heard, if you're up for some I may have 6 coming my way and I'm out of takers Wink

Edit- you also want the cash for the fine

i take it hes 3 points away from a ban? making him desperate.
a grand or nothing in my opinion.
3 points makes little diferance to insurance, and the fine will be 60 notes.

I don't think anything is worth the declaration.

What if you get points yourself and these ontop cost your licence?

What if it re-enforces his beleif he can get away with anything? Souds to me like the prick needs to learn he should pay the consequences of his actions.

Money will be gone in a couple weeks/months no?

You will have his points for 3/4 years and have to declare them for 5.

Daft idea.

At the risk of sounding like a granny, if you do it, you and he are both guilty of perverting the course of justice, and he'll have more than 3 points to worry about if he's caught doing it.

1. Offer £100 per point.

2. Record/video the transaction/conversation.

3. Suggest you might need several grand to not pass the evidence to the police. And a pay rise. And your own office.

The possibilities are endless.

Bit of a flaw in your plan is that both would be guilty of the same offence.

Well, duh.

Once you have the evidence, you don't need to take the points.

Take the money and say you will be glad to take the points on his behalf.

Then ignore the NIP and turn up at court. Give his name and plead guilty and accept the points for him.

Perhaps some sort of large false tash so you don't look too much like yourself when they run the CCTV tapes back would be good though.

Show him that article about a 77 year old with no convictions being jailed for 3 months for taking his son's points, and then ask him how much he thinks his points are worth.

Yes there have been a handful of cases of people being caught, but how many get away with it. Exactly the same as riding without restrictors on your 33bhp license. As long as you're both discrete what's the problem.

Got to be worth a go on his missus IMO. Laughing
