I watch it today, amazing documentary I had tears in my eyes watching that driver trying to save his mate from the burning car. It was horrific.

Most upsetting thing I've seen in years, particularly the last bit where one driver stopped to try to save another who was burning to death. By the time the marshalls got there with an extinguisher it was too late, and the poor bloke just wandered about on the track shellshocked whilst the other cars went past...

There are mutterings about staging it again every couple of years, but it's never come to anything.

We don't really like the idea of racing round city streets, it offends the sensibilities of too many do gooders with over sensitive hearing.

Having said that, racing has returned to Crystal Palace, so it could happen.
