A nova shouldnt beat you off the light's unless it was a 2.oltr just pretend you wasnt paying attention!
Any motor bike should piss over a nova even a scoot! |

ha u should have whoop de whooped his ass, practise ur racing starts and i assure u no car (ok 999 out of 1000) will stand a chance.
To get a good start hold ur clutch a bit further in on the biting point as u rev the bike up to 9000revs then laugh as u fly off leaving a trail of blue smoke. Don't do too many tho or u'll go thru clutches like sunday dinners
p.s. RS125s rule!! |

i have a aprilia rs125 and why you lot saying just because he has a aprilia rs he did'nt beat him! you lot do talk bull shit! everybike is the same as long as you look after it! so i don't know what you are chatting about matey! plus they can't be that bad because i killed a BMW M3 in a race today and i think i impressed alot of girls today by killing him off and to the next lights!!!
anyway bikers should stick together even if we do have aprilia's plus who has won the moto gp 125 all the time and 250 aswell!!!!! |

Bikerboy, what has Aprilia winning the moto gp got to do with it??? Your bike is not the same as a GP bike is it??? Unless yours does 140mph
I have been there and I can quite honestly say 2 strokes are crap unless you can afford to maintain them. They are enormous fun, but too unreliable, I don't care if it's Aprilia, Cagiva, Aprilia, or bloody Kangarooi, if it's a 2 stroke it ain't gonna be reliable. ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |

Hi
The RS should easily take a Nova, and most hot hatch backs up to about 80. Just need to get off the line well. Basically on the RS just give it full throttle and use the clutch to keep the revs at around 10000rpm until the clutch is all the way out, then change up to second as the revs hit the red line. The RS will take off like a scalded cat if riden like this, but it will also make loads of noise and be a tad obvious that you are trying
Oh, and dont use the same technique on a larger bike or you will flip it!
All the best

i have been pulling away all wrong! Ive been taking it up to about 3000 rpm to pull away I dont like the sound the bike makes in first when it goes over 6000rpm so i tend to change before that! I know for next time anyway and if i really care about winning on the pull away i will follow your advice
the important thing to me is that i caught him up as i hit the power band in 3rd
ive only done about 100 miles on the bike since i got it so im still not amazingly confident and all this clutch shifting stuff is new to me!
Thanks for all the tips |

Jimbo - dont be a knob. The RS is faster than the NSr, its just not as reliable. And look at the title of the forum. Do you read 'NSR Chat Forum'?? No, its 'Bike Chat Forum'. Bikers get enuff shit from jo public without getting it from other bikers as well.
[/rant]
As for the powerband thang, I didnt use mine for a month or so. I used to change up just before it reached it. Cant live without it now tho ____________________ BCF: Be yourself, just don't be an arse. |
