Hello I'm at this moment in time buying a piaggio NRG on ebay, and before i buy it, i need to know if its possible to convert it from a 50 to a 125, i've looked around on ebay for nrg 125 engines and there is none, i've seen on google that some1 did a conversion from a gilerra runner 125 engine fit in the nrg if anybody could tell me this works for sure and fit's in allright then id appreciate that.

Quick Question, How old are you ? if your only 16 then you can't have any more than a 50cc and if your 17 why not just buy a 125 straight away.

I know people have put the runner 125 engines in the nrg 50's but theres not really much point as you need to change all the information on the V5 its quite a faf IMHO

mate i was only 17 last week i sat at 40mph for a year its not that bad, is it really worth your licence if you get caught with a 125 at 16 i can assure you it is annoying as fuck sat there at 40mph if you want a quickish 50 a mate of mine has a SX50 with a technigas enox and that dose about 55 according to my spedo but trust me its worth the wait the jump to a 125 feels epic.

You're sixteen and you want to buy a 50, and then convert it to a 125?

if you're going down that route, there's a handful of GS500's for sale for about £700. You could just flip a few L-plates on that. it'd be more legal.

At least if you get caught riding a GS500, you'll only get done for riding without a license.
if you get caught riding a "50cc" scooter with a 125cc engine, you'll get done for insurance fraud, driving without insurance, driving without a license and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Seriously mate, it ain't worth it. Get a 50cc or wait a year and jump to a 125cc. if life is too short to stick to a 50cc bike; life is definitely too short to wait 5 years until you can drive on the roads again. With heightened insurance costs. And you'll be pulled over every five minutes because of your various disqualifications. Wink
