Fuel Tap Woes

My fuel tap doesn't appear to behave. On, infact, doesn't mean 'on'. It means I will let you run dry and be stranded and potentially raped by the homeless.

Would I be right in thinking there are two spouts, the on being longest, and the only reason for mine to behave like a bell-end would be that the longer of the two has snapped off?

I'm going to drain the tank and investigate... Would a longer bit of petrol resistant tube over the top do the job?

I had the same problem with the div 600. It was the plastic pipe that sticks up into the tank from the tap. It's push fit and it had fallen out leaving me stranded.

Simple fix, Remove fuel tap, arse about for an hour trying to get the plastic pipe out of the tank. Push back in place, refit tap.

Hope this helps solve your problem, but maybe look in the tank with a torch to see before taking the tap off.
