Sooo buying a new bike today
made the mistake of asshuming my old work would be splendid chaps and put my holiday pay into my bank today like they said they would..

Oh no they didn't £400 isn't enough to buy a £600 bike..
anyone want to buy a netbook? lol

Tried thinking of ways to raise £200 in a few hours my netbooks up for sale on facebook don't have much else to sell at the mo tbh.

Any ideas?

They are only going to pay me for 1 bank holiday
the money in my bank today was all my holiday money.. all 4 days of it... im confused at how my boss has had 3 weeks off since ive been there yet i get 4 days

Can you not just contact the seller, explain the situation, and offer a downpayment to guarantee you're not messing him around and will get back to him when they give you the money - if you're set on this bike

Use your overdraft just until you get the money?

If your overdraft if maxed out, use your credit card to withdraw cash, be warned, this is expensive to do.

If both of those are maxed out use one of those legal loan sharks, if you thought getting cash out on a credit card was expensive, you've seen nothing until you use these guys.

Sellers always have a queue of buyers lined up begging them to take more money, plus their firstborn sons. Even if that bike does go elsewhere, there'll be another along in a minute.

Maybe you can persuade him when he turns up that it wasn't your fault, get him to take £400 now and give him a post-dated cheque for the remainder, dated for a date when you're sure you will have the cash?

Admittedly he'd be taking a fairly high risk on that. Or borrow money from your parents or something? Ring around any friends that you know recently got paid and trust you?

Otherwise, I'm with Roger, borrowing short term is a fairly high-risk proposition, although it would work, and this isn't the last and only bike in the world.

Id say avoid cash converters and places like that they are a total rip off and will only give you a 1/4 of the value of the item you sell

he paid deposit on my insurance i have to pay next month and so on till its all payed up then i can pay deposit back to him
