 |
|
I originally wanted an early 90s CBR400 because they look great and of course it's a honda.....reliable etc. But now a nice lookin kawasaki zxr400 in blue has come my way and I'm in need of help....fast.....otherwise I'll lose the kwak.
How reliable are kawasakis compared to hondas, and is the cbr really much much more of an easy/smooth ride.
Any help is much appreciated. ____________________ I don't hate Rocky Balboa...I PITY the fool...And I will destroy any man who tries to take what I got! |

Really depends on your level of experiance and what your planing on doing with it...
The honda will be (should be) relyable and comfy easy to live with but powerfull enough.
The kwak unless your used to it can scare the liveing **** out of you, (but then try takeing a sharp bend on mine @70 and thats pritty goddam scarey too) they are ace bikes but not the sort of thing to gentley build up experiance. It would defenately take the fun out of learning imo.
If its your first "big" bike the honda would probably be more sensible. Ive had a brief go on the zxr and was waiting for it to bite my head off at any moment, ive been rideing two years. I'd no doubt get used to it but the kungfu death grip on the bars would get difficult to loosten off after a ride.
As bendy says the serviceing and care the previous rider gave/didn't will make allot more difference than the brand... but certain bikes get thrashed (small high reving sports bikes) and certain ones dont (commuters e.t.c. unless ex-courrier!) ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

You can generalise If both bikes were treated the same.. and had an identical life, the Honda would have broken down less, have less corrosion and generally be in better condition. |

Give an example of how an nc30 is expensive to repair? (Original thread was about a cbr but who cares, we know they're inferior )
From my experience (though I don't go around crashing ) there's a good, cheap second-hand market for parts. |

Sorry I thought the thread was about NC30, my mistake.. and I meant expensive for service compared to ZXR, plugs are considerably more expensive etc.. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

well I am quite a new rider and this is going to be my first big bike. I need something that's easy(ish) to learn on and pretty comfy. I'm not gonna be pushing the bike to it's limits (not yet anyway!! )
If ridden semi-sensibly you think the kawasaki's ok? ____________________ I don't hate Rocky Balboa...I PITY the fool...And I will destroy any man who tries to take what I got! |

There's nothing wrong with the Kawasaki..........! It will teach you a lot and is a very decent bike. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

She'll be glad she chose the Kwak when it comes to major service time. Much more accessable engine than the Honda.
