Long wait

Passed my mod 1 on Wednesday 24th by some miracle. I was bricking it for the whole morning, could not believe it when the examiner told me i'd passed with no minors.The bad news is i've now got to wait until 29th September for my mod 2.Do i ditch my trusty 125 and pick up my bandit now or wait and get a few more weeks slogging around but still getting road time in.Decisions decisions

Theres no substitute for experience! On the flip side, what would you do if you were to fail - Obviously you won't though

Another 2-3 weeks for a re-test and longer without your 125... I would go spare not being able to go out on the road...

Theres plenty of time to get the larger machine once you have the mod 2 ticket... rushing only leads to bad things...

If you get rid of your 125 - what will you do your test on? It's all good and well expecting to pass your test, but you have to be prepared for the eventuality of failure - should you fail. Then you'll have to re-take, and by the sounds of it, your test centre doesn't have many available slots. So one month, MAY become two... three?

Not saying you will fail, but it's always a possibility. Good luck!

Saw someone (Angel Girl or Snow Tigeress?) post saying you can often pick up cancellations if you stay logged onto whatever DVLA site shows the cancellations.
They said that it only took a week or 2 to get a new test date by doing that.

As above, keep on the website. I managed to get my test two weeks earlier (reduced from 4 weeks-On a Saturday too!) on it. It may take a while, but you'll likely get something.

Yup, check, check and check again. I passed Mod 1, rode home, and got Mod 2 booked for the next morning.

I had to wait ages for the Mod 2 slot as well (about 5-6 weeks), which was surprising as I'd been told that it was the Mod 1 that had a large waiting list. Ah well.

Been on the DSA website and it looks like its a minimum of three weeks for tests for my area.Even if i get a cancellation there is no guarantee i'll be able to get the bike and lesson booked for that day.Looks like I will just have to wait it out.More time to keep practising those lifesavers
