I've been tempted to do this for quite a bit now. I've got quite a few mates on facebook who keep doing various runs. I'm no runner at all, but I cant help but think it'd be quite funny to log some 'runs' and see what my average speed is.

While I think it'd be a laugh, I'm thinking i'd be better at keeping this at a legal speed, last thing i'd want is a knock on the door from plod asking about my self incriminating evidence.

i had a google and they have something called 'iMapMyRide' which i think is for cyclists. Theres no way coppers can use gps data gathered on an iphone against you. half the time my iphone claims I am out at sea Shocked

I know mcn do an 'app' specifically for bikes

The GPS device would need to be home office approved firstly I believe. However they may be able to use it in conjunction with other evidence....

I use mapmyrun to log walks etc and I've used it on the bike. When you upload the track you can choose to make it public or private and posting it to Facebook is entirely your choice.

Would the Police follow it up if you did? I doubt it.

Would I post my 139mph average for a lap of Hyde Park online for all to see? Err no. Wink
