Nothing he can do, if he doesn't declare it his insurance is void, so he may as well not get any if he's going to do that. Its his fault for putting a claim in for a bike worth 500 quid.... ____________________ Current Bikes:Honda 929RR Fireblade, Honda CD200 Benly (Project), Stomp Z2 140

They'd probably only bother to check the database in the event of another claim. Then you'd get royally shafted. More the fool him for claiming on a bike woth £500 IMO. ____________________ My Flickr |

Yup, that was an expensive lesson.
Insure the bike as being worth £500 (or the lowest value they'll accept), get prices for 3rd party only, or TPFT but with a £500 excess - i.e. you won't be claiming on fire and theft - fit and list a cheapo £20 alarm/immobiliser, list it as garaged, with an Almax 4 chain and ground anchor. Yes, the price will come down, even though none of those factors are relevant to 3rd party risk.
Is that fraud? I dunno, that's for a court to decide. But it's clearly no more unreasonable than insurers increasing 3rd party risk just because you've suffered a theft. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

In terms of insurance, they check after you take the policy out... they phoned me to say I had put an incorrect day in for a claim... I hadn't they were just retarded [/quote]
Generally, by their nature, I've never known an insurance company to treat people fairly. Wazzocks the lot of them and got to agree with the retarded bit; beyond belief. |
