looking for some gasket material for my 50cc generic cracker, for the exhaust pipe and silencer. would anybody be kind enough to point me in the right direction? preferably from ebay . if not i'll be heading to the shop first thing tomorrow morning  |

If you type into ebay gasket material lots of items come up. Some also say they are for exhaust gaskets. You can also purchase exhaust gasket sealent which may help to prevent them splitting. |

Cut one out of a piece of copper sheet the same thickness.
Cut it out carefully with tinsnips then heat it until it's cherry red and allow it to cool (this anneals it so the copper is soft and squashes into any gaps, avoid unecessary bending or working of the metal once it's annealed or it'll go hard again).
Copper is an excellent material for exhaust gaskets and they can often be reused if you anneal them before refitting.
