I bought my first bike yesterday, an SV650 K6. I'm after insurance for it but so many insurance companies don't allow you to have mods on your bike. These are big name companies, Carole Nash and Aviva to name a few. At the same time I can't imagine many people having absolutely no mods on their bike. So how do people use these companies? Do they just not declare mods or do they genuinely not have any?

Check asda motorbike compare out, they don't ask for mods and were the cheapest around for me..

If you don't declare your mods (if they ask for them) and have a crash then it is doubtful if you will get paid if they find out.

Thanks Karma This is exactly the same as Tesco insurance. The quote I got here is £120 less, however they haven't asked for mods. When I phone them up, I think the quote my start increasing!

Edit: I went to that site that gave me the quote that was £120 less than the second cheapest, but in the "Is your bike modified?" box, if I write something, it wont let me press 'Next', so I guess they don't insure modified bikes either =/

I am with bikesure and simply listed the modifications so they are on the insurance certificate. I guess what mods you are talking about as to whether they insure them or not. But things like crash bobbins are modifications as is paint jobs etc - so not sure why you are having probs
