Exciting lunch time.. Laughing

Went for the usual KFC at 3pm on a Tuesday Wink Turned a corner and watched a bike sliding along the road.
Turns out its a work mate from the Maidstone dealership...
Also turns out its a brand new R1... When I say brand new I mean its <100miles Laughing

His first bike was a K9 GSXR600... fair enough.

This is the result of too much go go juice...

Warning : contains what would previously be considered a sexy bike.

Think he part ex'd the 09 GSXR and paid some money/finance...was talking about doing this over the weekend anyway..

If not, its certainly on loan/test ride.. Laughing

Honestly.. it looks bad, just needs an engine case of some description then its purely cosmetic... although there is oil across the front and rear wheels, and the entire side.. Neutral

You have to love that bumpy as f**k road to Lagunas. Not. As a side note I once saw a bloke on a 748 drop it as he put his foot in a massive pothole right outside the shop. Me and a mate helped him lift it.

Doh!

Looks like a test-ride to me - who would have those stickers on a new bike?

Ouch.

The excess on test ride bikes is normally about £700, it's going to hurt his wallet either way!

It's wore a big hole in his wallet too though I doubt he's realised that yet.

IME, there's usually a hike on the excess for 1000cc super bike models, so probably closer to £1000. Either way, there's a few grands worth of damage in OEM parts there alone. If it is a demo bike, he's not getting any of that excess back.

Still, probably better than doing the same to your own bike.

See, a complete set of R&G's for that bike would be about £100 and it would have saved all that damage! He'll know for next time hey Wink

Maybe the dealer will think about it next time before sending Revvy McHero out on a mint £13K+ bike. I doubt that £850 excess is going to repair all of that, even at cost.

For a brief moment I wondered why they're not fitted as stock, then I realised that shagged bikes = good business. Embarassed

Chain looks a bit slack as well.

To be fair, he was on a 30 road and a car slowed too fast for him and a handful of brake caused a front washout... but still... Laughing Fuck that..

How fast was he going when he landed? A 30mph lowside wearing through his leathers is a bit frightening.

So he was riding too fast and too close to the car in front. If you want to give an R1 some beans do it on a motorway or NSL.

Either way an expensive mistake.

I wonder if the dealer will sell the bike with the tag of "Pre-crashed so you don't have to" Wink

What part of the RH engine casing is that that got damaged? It looks a bit vulnerable. Do they normally get mangled on a slide down the road?

Was it an F1 car? I can't imagine many cars out braking an R1, They aren't many cars that can out brake my TDM!

I'll get a google map view of the road, theres a myriad of turn offs which no one indicates for Laughing and...there is an awesome corner at the end, but he was being followedby his brother after going to mcdonalds...so he wouldnt be ragging it, but I dont know.

Also...excess didnt cover something or whatever, just told me he has a bill for £1600 Laughing

According to him the car put brakes on just after the turning for this road... mate said the driver said the sat nav said to go left, but it looks like an old abandoned place.. but it was only until they passed it they saw the shopping bit and dropped the brakes.

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=tn2+3ds&ll=51.15705,0.286849&spn=0.001157,0.00284&gl=uk&z=19&vpsrc=6&layer=c&cbll=51.157051,0.286913&panoid=1nmJ_AZM2d9JMdTiFChhLA&cbp=12,261.87,,0,16.83

Thats it there... Car put its brakes on roughly in line ith the red car he reckons.

Either way...sucks to be him.
