Well I guess some would think they are made of Gold.
All of them were Snap-On, with sockets ranging from 10mm through to my giant 70mm plus all sizes in between, spanners from 14mm through to 56mm
Plus all my ratchets which I had in all the different size drives, all my screwdrivers, breaker bars, electronic ignition testing equipment, compression testers, hydrometer, pliars, the whole lot collected over about 25 years.
Then there were my two big Snap-On tool chests in which they were all stored. They took one, so they must have had a vehicle and there would have been three of 4 of the thieving scrotes, the other chest was left behind but ransacked.
They all carry a lifetime guarantee, which is part of the reason they are so expensive, but what really bugs is that some of them just cannot be replaced as they were old but 100% reliable and are not made anymore.
The bastards know what they were looking for and must have seen me outside working on the bike or got a look in when I had the door open at some time.
I did not include that there is also about a £2,000 for the damage to the garage.
Redoko, I only have the X-Type, but I brought it new in 2009, and just waiting for the new replacement to be launched.
Hetzer, yes I am insured, but the insurance company have politely pointed out the small print that states that any claim made relating to the Garage is limited to £2,000 as it is not attached to the property, which I find annoying as I pointed out the type of garage I had and the value of my tools.
They were very happy to take my money, typically not so keen to pay out, so there may be a complaint to the Ombudsman for miss selling on the horizon ____________________ It is better to arrive 30 seconds late in this world, than 30 years early in the next |

When you lose tools it's always worse than you first realise as you think about all the ones you use all the time.....it's only when you need something weird and out of the ordinary that you realise that went too
Insurance companies are legalised highwaymen ,good luck with getting them to do the right thing. |

Sorry to hear that, hope it all gets sorted.
On a separate note, in a previous job i spent several days at Snap-On's UK headquarters (working on interfacing mobile printers with their portable diagnostic machines).
The whole place was just tool porn everywhere, and i spent most of my time there sporting a semi-lob with a runny nose.

Bad luck TC, here's hoping all your stuff is found
It annoys the hell out of me that you can't even work in your own garage with the doors open without some scumbags eyeing it up for theft. I'm always paranoid when I have the garage door open, but you shouldn't have to be! |
