Yippee!!

I was cacking it and felt i really didn't ride my best, nearly missed slowing for riding in a 20 zone, thought i'd missed making a couple of lifesavers when perhaps i should have done and generally didn't feel like i was riding smoothly...but a big thanks to Mark Hopper at UK Motorcycling Training in High Wycombe, he's certainly very thorough and trains to a high standard! Thumbs Up

I honestly wasn't sure i'd passed it when i climbed off but the examiner said otherwise, he gave me two minors...the same fault twice which was being a little hesitant leaving roundabouts and not keeping a good speed up but apart from that he said it was all good!

I have to say the examiners for both modules were pleasant chaps making me feel as much at ease as the circumstance would permit and they both gave good clear feedback at the end too.

And yep...now it's time for me to go shopping! Laughing

Thank you everyone!

For all those who've not taken their test yet i wish i could give you a taste of the good feeling you get when you pass but you WILL get to experience it yourself when you do...it's such a buzz!

FWIW it's really helped me reading all the interesting posts and words of encouragement on BCF in preparation for the tests, even the tales told of how people have failed sometimes which gives fantastic feedback for all of us...and i too feel the disappointment when that happens. BUT, i know that jumping the DVLA hoops is not exceptionally difficult, it's simply a challenge...so to those who have yet to take their test or maybe failed a test already i say keep at it and it will inevitably result in success! Thumbs Up

Just failed MOD 2 again - second attempt !

1 major fault which was on the home stretch back to the test centre at a major junction !

Absolutely gutted as I thought I'd already cocked it up and actually hadn't - only had 2 minor faults until then ! Less than 10 minutes away from the test centre !

Congratulations Trisers! Aah that lovely glow of...PASS! Laughing

That rough luck Sherwood Bambi but get back onto the test centre and get your next try booked as soon as possible. What was the major and minors on? Was it something that could have been avoided and handled better? If so do a little more practice, iron out the niggly stuff and then nail that test!

Thanks Sweeny - the 2 minors were probably down to one little wobble pulling off from a set of lights - no biggiie !

The major occurred as I was stood at a junction waiting to turn right across the flow of traffic coming toward me. I'd let one gap go and thought "if I'm here for much longer I'll be marked down for failing to make progress" - 2 cars were turning left into the same road as me and a white van was indicating right, then changed his mind and swung left across me from the wrong lane. I was distracted by the van and hadn't allowed the cars to completely clear the corner and hence the exit road wasn't totally clear ! Fail !!

With hindisght I should have just sat another 30 secs or whatever and let the idiot with the white van do whatever the f**k he was attempting ! And of course ensured the exit was completely free !

That was rough Sherwood. The wobbles were probably down to a touch of nerves but as you said with the fail maybe another 30 secs and then it would have been plain sailing all the way back.

At least you are aware of what went wrong and hopefully that wont happen again so get it booked asap (or as soon as you get enough cash). If the dates are too far ahead then phone up for a cancellation or keep checking around midnight.

You'll nail it for sure next time. Thumbs Up

Yes that's tough Sherwood but i suppose like others have said on here just treat it as another lesson on the way to your PASS!

I think for me the hardest part has been to adapt to the changing situations on the road in front of me when i'm totally concentrating on controlling the bike in the first place and then trying to remember all the key safety stuff like lifesavers, mirrors and road positioning etc...so when an unusual situation like that occurs it can become information overload and lead to a tiny error in judgement?

But at the end of the day, that's all it was just one tiny error...and i bet it's one you won't make next time i'm sure.

Good luck with next time! Thumbs Up

Incidentally, my test was booked for tuesday but the test centre contacted my training school late on the friday before to say it had been cancelled (bank holiday weekend) but Mark my instructor got on the booking line first thing on the tuesday morning and got a test booked at a different test centre for the next day Wink
