Breaking leathers in.

I've only ever worn textiles, but at Cadwell Park at the weekend, because I'm gonna do a trackday or two, I found some bargain leathers, and bought a 2-piece set. Look nice, fit lovely, took a bit of jiggling about to get the boots to fit over comfy without zips digging in etc, but eventually got it so it was all nice and snug. Until I got on the bike! Man, now I know why racers liek Rossi etc do all that stretching and wriggling before they get on the bike, 'cos as soon as I got my feet on the pegs they were so uncomfortable. They've eased off a little already with just an hours riding, but that took some stretching and adjusting. How long until they've bedded in properly? Obviously, I'm not going to be wearing them in the wet or when I'm commuting as it's bloody cold first thing in the morning, but I'll be saving them for dry, daytime rideouts and wearing the textiles when it's cold and miserable!

I've had mine a few months and wear them occasionally. They are still tight and bedding in so it takes time!

Depends on the leathers really. I've had leathers that have stretched and gone baggy in next-to-no-time and leathers that have never really stretched or broken in at all.

This is how I bed in all my gear .

Rossi etc wear kangeroo hide leathers which are stretchy so they don't need bedding in so much. They also no doubt have them custom made to their size.

Try going for a run round the block in them. It won't bed them in, but it'll give everyone a good laugh.

I wet all the leather with a cloth and coat them in that Nikwax leather conditioner stuff. Then wear them round the house for a few days

Damp leathers and nikwax for me too. Works wonders and takes the pain off the strain.

I find mine are uncomfortable until I get on the bike. Then they are fine and I can wear them all day. Its the walking around and relaxing off the bike that makes them uncomfortable for me.
