History:-
Have 3 points from May 2008
Passed full test in may 2009
Got clocked @51 in a 30 zone back march 2011

Well.......
Went to court, pleaded guilty and was very apologetic.
Swerved disqualification like a boss, accepted 3 points and a 300 squid fine.

Licence arrived in the post today. WINNAR!!!!!

Well in, it's a horrible feeling when you reckon you're goverfucked... Still reckon my 95 in a 40, getting a section 59 and 3 points, £60 squid fine is the luckiest day of my life though.

Luckiest day of my life...

Me a week after I got my licence wrote:

Had to go on the motorway the other day to go to a site for work, got pulled by an unmarked cop car for doing 87.5mph over a set distance even though i know i was @ 120mph when i seen the blue lights in my mirror.
Told them i already have 3points on my provisional from over a year ago and that if they gove me points ill loose my licence. They asked me about the size of my plate i told them the bike is how i bought it and i think the plate is regulation size. he told me that if it was small then they will gimmie a 30quid fine and no points. i promptly said "Now you mention it mate, i think my plate is un-necessarily small".

30 squid fine and i was on my way

Did you already have a car licence? If you did, nice one.

If not, the way I see it, your licence will be revoked by the DVLA under the new drivers act for tottying up 6 points within the first two years.

Speeding points count from the date of the offence, not the date of conviction and your original points aren't spent yet.

This^^^ If you didn't have a full car license they will still revoke it, happened to me when I was 20, date of conviction was a couple of week after my probationary period, date of offense was about a month before end of probationary, like you I recieved my license back, points wrote on in biro, thought I'd dodged it being revoked. Couple of week later a letter turns up from DVLA stating that the magistrates court had informed them of my 3 points, and with 3 previous I had exceeded the maximum amount of points allowed within the first 2 years, had to re-apply for provisional and sit all parts of test again, insurance went up by about 50% too

I'm not allowed to ride after sunday 23:59 Sad

Back to L-Plates for me.

I am interested in the following sentence on the letter though.

"To recover all previously held full entitlements the retest must be for one of the the categories held prior to the revocation"

I have "kp" on it, so if i do a 50cc moped test???? or a lawn mower test?????

Bollocks, thats a bugger Sad I take it you can book a test right away though?

I'd phone DVLA and ask about those, I always thought it was just car/bike - do either, get both back kinda thing.

Bloody hell mate. Does this mean you have to mod1 and 2 again, or just put in for mod2?

Put in as soon as bud.

Not really. If he has as car license - he can pass that instead and get all the other qualifications as well:

As far as I'm aware, if you lose your lisence and you have both a car and a bike, you can retake either of them to regain them both back. Would be easier doing the car test than doing mod1, mod2 etc?

Bummer. Yes, I did wonder about going and doing a moped test in such a situation. Pretty sure such a thing is still on the books.

Might be worth asking the question because it should be an absolute piece of piss to fly round on a twist and go for 40 minutes. Presumably it would be like the old test too? A moped cannot by legal definition reach the speeds required for the emergency stop and swerve componants of mod 1 (50km/h = 31.6mph, mopeds can't legally exceed 30mph).

I'd want written confirmation that this was the case though.

Double check what parts of the test you actually have to retake first...

If was doing a full bike test again it would be CBT + theory, mod1 then mod 2 again.

Ouch... fair few quid to get it all retaken, especially if you can't use your own bike for whatever reason (i.e. getting it there etc).

I dread the day that I might get a NIP in the post and what speeds it might 'allege' I was doing.

To even book mod 1 you need a theory pass.
mod 2 needs mod 1 to be completed before you can book it also.

Cansa, this really sucks mate. You can ride, so tests should be easy...still an utter ball ache... Think its like £121.50 for theory and mods, then around 100 for CBT... then finding a 125, shit news, I just sold my CLR which you know would have got you through the test Thumbs Down

Hope you get it back soon buddy
