tyre psi ?

when a tyre states max psi im guessing thats for when carry pillion ect so how do i know what i should have in for normal riding?

i thought it would say 32-38 psi max ect but just sayes something like 38 psi max.

how can i fiind what psi my tyres need its an sv650 curvy 2000 model thanks adam.

p.s no owners manuel ext

Dont run it at max PSI...

Think 33 front and 36 rear is standard pressures in that bike.. but can change with different tyres as such.

Always do tyres when they are cold.. dont ride to the petrol station then do them Laughing

What tyres are on there? Quick google says people are recommending 36/42 pressures.

The SV I had was on BT021s and had 33 and 38 as I had a pillion.

+1 to what paddy said.

If you have the owners manual then tyre pressures will be in there. I thought the SV was 33f 36r tbh.

I have a 99-01 sv650 service manual and it states 33F 36R solo and dual rider. But tbh it depends on the make and type of the tyre and what kind of riding you do.

One of the most useful handling tips that I’ve picked up so far regards tyre pressures. When I first got my bike it was set up F33/R36 - which, it transpires, is the officially recommended set-up. At the time I’d no idea if this was right, and had no manual to refer to. I'm certainly not advocating that anyone ignores any tyre manufacturer's specific advice, but you might find that a bit of cautious experimentation yields some interesting results).
