Help! I recently bought an aprilia rs 125. It struggled to start the first few times due to the previous owner not using it. I bought and fitted a new battery, now nothing is happening when I turn the ignition key. No power, lights, nothing. I'm a new rider and am completely lost, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Absolutely nothing happens.

Sorry, have you wired the battery up properly, have you got a tester for the battery?

Some batteries need to be charged before fitting. In my case I've never charged one but yours may be different.

The RS has a few relays which are common to going bye bye at random intervals... might be worth getting a multimeter on it.

If it is charged up and fitted to the bike correctly, check the fuses. Never had a look at the RS125 but it will either have a fuse box or like my old NSR an inline fuse on the wire running from the positive terminal.

In reference to it cranking over initially but not starting and you just buying it.
Put it in gear and push it forward, if it's easy to push it needs a top end rebuild.

Often people flog Aprilia's because the top end needs doing.

yeah people do end up selling the when a top end needs doing,,,dont know why i have done a top end rebuild 4 times for mates and that,, its realy easy and i like doing it only costs £90
