Sorry about the horrible picture quality, but haven't had an opportunity to whip out my proper camera. I haven't actually listened to the stock can, so can't compare, but I found that the Micron can attached is quite proficient at waking up neighbours at 1am.
Obviously, I'll be needing a lot more time on the bike to get used to how she handles. I was a bit surprised at how I reached 40mph in the blink of an eye from stand still at a red light in town (and then got really paranoid and started crawling fearing I'd have my new license revoked!).
Please excuse me, but I'm gonna get ready to have a joyride in the beautiful weather we've got in Cambridge right now...
I'll report back later. |

Damn son, nice.
Guessing you did DAS? Would've thought it's a bit powerful for a first bike.
Either way just my jealousy setting in, still waiting for my bike later this week. |

I thought the same thing, I loved the look of the R6 and wanted one, but seeing a few CBRs has got my eye wandering. ____________________ Ted : "Maybe he's agoraphobic."

I'm waaaay to dim to spot false modesty.
That's a properly nice bike, and I love the colours; if I ever go mental and get a 600, it'd likely be one like that. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Lovely bike .
Don't know why Honda didn't put the yellow rim on the wheels like they did with earlier models with the same colours. In my view you chose the best paint scheme, love it! |

Haha, OK.
Actually, this bike wasn't my first choice, as I in fact had my eyes on -02 CBR600F in red/white/blue, with lower mileage, and not a scratch on the fairing. Mine's got some scrathes and a bit of rust in small pathes in a couple of areas. That's what I was referring to when I was saying nothing "super fancy". This one that I got did end up cheaper to buy though.
@oMIKEYo:
Got this bike from a shop with service, MOT, and tax, all done yesterday, and the bike's run for just short of 23k miles, all for 2400 quid. I know I could've gotten this sort of bike in this sort of shape cheaper if I'd done a private purchase, but this one comes with 3 month warranty, and I don't want to worry too much about making mistakes with maintenance in the beginning.
As for insurance, I did an online search on ebike insurance.
Male, 26 years old, car license held for 7 years, no convictions (motor-related or otherwise), 0 years motorcycle and 0 years motorcycle NCB (obviously), bike used for leisure and commuting, less than 3000 miles/year, immobiliser, alarm, and chain for security options.
All this came out as 300 pounds/year with 250 pound excess for TPFT. YMMV. Hope this helps anyway.
And yes, it is rather powerful for a first bike. At this stage I'm a bit worried about getting myself into trouble, but I try to be very disciplined with the throttle. |

Hallo!
I got a 2004 CBR600F (in black) after my DAS and I had the same worries as you about the power. It's hilarious how fast you end up going compared to the 125cc from before.
However, I've found the bike to be very understanding and forgiving and have had no incidents on it in the past few months. What I have found useful is to be really loose on my handlebar grip and cling on to the tank with my knees, looking at where I want to go on the road, when going around corners and just let the bike do its own thing.
Several times having that extra power has helped me get out of the way of hazards and other drivers. |

Aha thanks for the info!
Ive been doing quotes on an r6 having just passed my test. Not advisory but its what i want.
Kept coming in at £4000 p/y everywhere tried ebike - £1200 tp or £2100 tpft.. not as bad as the 4k but getting lower
If i use my dad as the 'main' driver - due to me only gunna be using it once a week maybe twice, then it goes down to £121 per year
May have to have a look at these cbr's instead |
