New Tyres YBR 125

Hello guys. First post so be gentle with me lol. I have a YBR125 and need 2 new tyres. I am looking at getting the Pilot Sporty as they seem the best for my bike.

What I really would like to know is the weight codes. The tyres I have looked at have 42 front and 57 rear weight codes. Im a big lad but i have looked on google and they would hold my weight easily i think (im 19 stone).

I use the bike for commuting short distances and nothing else. Am i able to use the 2 different weight codes or do I need 57 on each tyre etc. What i mean is do the tyres have to be matching? Would it affect the ride in any way or are front weights always different to back weights. I have found a good price to get the tyres delivered as Pro Tyre wanted to charge me £75!

Front is 2.75-18 Rear is 3.00-18 ( at the moment but i have been told this is wrong and 90-90-18's are better on the rear)

Pilot Sportys are the way to go and 90/90-18 is definitely what you should be using on the back, not anything else. a 90/90-18 tyre can carry more weight and has a wider and lower profile. You might find the bike is a bit 'twitchy' around corners with the 3.00-18 tyre.

The letter at the end is 'speed' rating - and P means up to 94mph. As for the weight rating, the front generally has less weight on it than the rear. Pilot Sportys are only available in 42 and 57 ratings for front and back in these sizes, and will be absolutely fine. You will absolutely love them, I promise you. Very Happy

Not sure about that - you need a 90/90-18 57P rear and 2.75-18 42P front. That's all the info you need.
