any ideas guys what might be up "cough, piston, splutter cough"

im well pissed off as i got replacement Rings, piston, and a new bore , 5 weeks ago!!!!!!! any ideas of what to do now

Souns like it might of nipped up and kept running..

it still goes but there a high pitch scraping noise comming from the piston, before the "mini" siezure something inside the engine was rattleling lika a bitch, any ideas on what that was..thanx ropehead

Hi

Could be a few things, but I suspect you are going to have to take off the top end and have a look. Had it nipped up before? Rattle is likely to be worn piston (possibly caused by a seizure), worn bore (unlikely on a plated barrel, especially as the bike was OK when you pulled it apart), worn little end bearing (possible) or snapped rings (also possible). If it is snapped rings then watch out as they can damage the bore, costing you loads more money

When i havent rode my bike for a while i start of and it gets to about 6 thou revs and starts sounding weird and have to change up a gear and does the same it only does this for about a minute thou

luke.. same thing happens to my nsr, altho no rattle, basically riding along, high pitched scraping sound, like metal twisting agains metal, back wheel locks, pull over, wait a few mins, it starts again... same thing over and over... hmmm now mine doesnt start

yeah zim, it will still start but the scraping noise is still there, after i ran it it had a little siezure as i opened it up for the first time but it was fine again after that, that was about 3 weeks ago could that have caused the problem?
