 |
|
Hello all,
Before I start let me say, im aware I have only one post and this may seem a bit dodgy to be asking but im 100% genuine and id be perfectly happy for a mod to vouch for me by phoning my house or something and verifying that im not wanting info for illegal purposes.
Anyway, I purchased my speedfight 206WRC 100cc about 6 months ago (maybe 5) and I use it for going and seeing family etc, going to the shops and other general stuff. I dont go far though on it which has me even more confused.
Anyway, It has been working perfectly fine and ive had no bother with it since purchasing it. Once or twice it wouldnt start and it turned out to be the spark plug and the other time it just started working again after spraying some easy start.
I went out two days ago though when it was raining and whatnot and when I went to start it made a whirring noise and I thought "this seems dodgy..." and thought nothing more of it as it started the second time.
I came home from the local asda and it was pelting down and that was that. Then yesterday I was going to the shop for my grandmother and my scooter just wouldnt start at all..
My granda is fairly technical minded and has worked on jetskis, boats, cards etc and motorbikes but has little knowledge about scooters however hes still manage to diagnose its not the spark plug and the coil is working but has no power to it.
We went down the local car part shop and got a new spark plug anyway and when there were talking to one of the younger ones working there and he explained his mate has a speedfight 2 (not 206 though) and the same thing happened and they did something with the barrel.
I dont really want to have to disable the imobiliser as Im wary as it is with it and I have an alarm fitted.
Anyway, after taking the back end off the scooter and messing around testing the coil, spark plug and all of that we are no further forward and my granda seems to think its the imobiliser as he says thats the only other logical problem and not to mention the fact that the imobiliser light flashes like three times then twice then twice again I think it is and then it goes into a solid light which apparently means the imobiliser is still armed.
Now to me and my granda it seems weird that this has just randomly happened after no issues. Prior to it happening heres what happened.
- Went out in rain
- Did 10 - 15 miles
- When I got home started it maybe 4-5 times as it sounded rattly
Thats it really, I didnt expect it not starting or anything..
Now my granda says that there will be a way to simply bypass the imobiliser and he will solder it etc properly and I can use my alarm still along with steering lock. hes also taken out the kickstart as it needed replacing anyway and he hasnt had time to do it plus apparently if the imobiliser isnt on the kickstart will start it so its extra security.
So anyway im asking if my scooter is a speedfight 206wrc 2003 how can I simply fix this problem for cheaply as I cant afford 100+ or alternatively how can I disable the imobilser and simply not use it.
Note that im not a crook ploying to steal someones scooter im simply someone in need of fixing my scooter as I need it.
Thanks all in advance. |

the immobiliser on a speedfight 2 (ACI100) will not stop the bike from starting if its working ok
it will only stop the bike from revving up high for the drive to engage enough to ride it
do you have a spark?
if the cdi got wet it could have shorted out and fucked it or it may dry out and be ok
speedfight 100's are rattly, the piston clearance is a bit on the slack side so they don't heat seize, as nobody ever warms them up properly, people just jump on them and ride off at full throttle
if its the cdi you can plug one of any other bike into it and it will start but not rev up, if this works you will need a cdi and transponder from the red key
just seen this:-
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-Speedfight-100-CDI-Aerial-Transponder-/140596491617?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item20bc343561
£50 better? |
