Dead easy to fit yourself, it's only around 2-3 bolts to get it changed.

As for what's best that's rather subjective. Depends on your budget.

MHP do a fabulous looking Moto GP style full system, but that's about a grand. They could probably knock you up a can and link pipe, but it'll still be rather pricey. Yoshimura stuff is really good quality as is Akrapovic. At the opposite end there's stuff like Scorpion and Carbon Can Co.

As for materials it all comes down to preference. Personally I prefer Ti, CF then Stainless in that order, but it's up to you. Stainless is the cheapest, with CF and Ti being similar pricing or CF being a little more depending on quality.

Unscrew bolts, remove exhaust.

Offer up new exhaust, do bolts up finger tight. Check it's not fouling on anything. Tighten bolts, check again it's not fouling on anything (even at full suspension compression/extension). Start bike check for any leaks.

That's it.

I bought a single 'Fuel' can a few months back. Nothing too extravagant - I think it cost about £160. It's a carbon effect stubby oval jobby. I fitted it soon as I got it and what a difference! removed the baffle and creamed myself. If you don't want to spend a huge amount, I'd recommend one of these (can post a vid/sound file if you want).

It's SV 650 I'm 99% sure you have to cut the stock can off then clamp a new one on.

On the SV650 you have to cut the standard exhaust off, the new can should come with a link pipe, 2 clamps and a hanging strap Thumbs Up

EDIT

Or buy this..

Don't need to be that skilled to cut straight, and there's not on the SV, similarly there wasn't on the NC30 either. Had to cut the pipe off.

Yeah, you could buy that....he might even consider a lower reasonable offer for someone off the forum,if not then £150 for the full system is still gotta be a bargain cinsidering the can alone new is around £400-£450 for my bandit (not sure about for an SV but doubt it'd be much cheaper).

FYI Akrapovic are one of the best exhausts you can get I wouldn't be Surprised if that Exhaust system was £700+ when new. Turning it down for an MTC is like turning down a Ferrari for a Ford.

But at the end of the day whatever floats your boat. But IMO you can't better a better exhaust than that. Thumbs Up

As I said in my first post. Akrapovic are a premium exhaust company. MTC are budget tat.

I'd be buying the full Akra system for £150. Much better quality and much better bling factor. The MTC is just noisey crap IMO.
