Hi all, so i tried to replace the front tyre on my pug speedfight 2, and i didnt have a proper tyre lever so i used a crowbar. didnt have much trouble getting it on until the last 4-5 inches where i had to use my full strength to get it onto the bead. upon doing this iv actually streched the rim of the tyre and some of the metal strands popped out of the tyre. i got it all on and tried to pump it up but air is coming out of where i over stretched the tyre. my question is, is this tyre now rubbish or can it be repaired? thanks

Unfortunately it's fucked, buy a new tyre and take it to someone who knows what they are doing to fit it.

Laughing it might have something to do with your choice in tool Wink .

Either invest in some rim protectors and tyre levers or take the wheel and tyre to a garage to let them fit it, normally costs £5-10 to fit a tyre to a loose wheel.

Only parts of a tyre that can be repaired is the central part of the tread, this then only really applies to small punctures (nail holes etc). Sidewalls and the bead aren't repairable. I suppose you might theoretically get away with fitting an inner tube and running the tyre tubed but not really worth the time, effort and risk when scooter tyres are so cheap.
