Christ, I entered the 30MPH limit in town from a 40, I slowed down to 30 an Audi driver behind me waited 10 seconds and decided to overtake me at about 35MPH, he then slowed down to 30 once he overtook me, no really what was the point? Confused

TBH, I felt like pulling back the throttle and overtaking him on my ped with two fingers up, but knowing my luck I'd be done by the Police. Rolling Eyes

He overtook you where it was safe, so that when you re-enter a NSL he can continue at his speed without having to worry about being prevented from overtaking by other cars!! I do it!! Just makes sense to me!

Eh, but we just entered the town? it would of been a good 3 miles before he was even *close* to another NSL zone?

Besides it obviously isn't safe if he is breaking the speed limit? Confused

You're on a ped. People will overtake you.

How long was he stuck behind you before the 30 limit?

Yeah i know how u feel, i used to ride a ped quite regularly. Only mine was resticted to 30mph Shocked

They have no repect for peds at all! Even to the stage of overtaking dangerously sometimes.

Just get them back when they come to some traffic (jams). Haha never has riding a ped ever felt so good. Very Happy Filterings great!!! Very Happy

Laugh in their faces as you potter past them right the way to the front of the queue. Laughing

Robby, I understand people will overtake me and I wouldn't of cared if he didn't slow down to the speed I was doing anyway, He was only waiting behind for about 30 seconds.

People do it to me on my NSR, and it winds me up because there never is any point to their actions...except that they think they are bigger, better and more experienced and therefore should be in front of you.

People over take anyone with L plates just on the principle of it. Can see why he overtook a 50cc given the chance as he'd be stuck behind you when the speed limit increased.

Yes, its very frustrating, I get it on my 125 as well!

I get more pissed off about those who roar past me, or even honk because I slow down when I have the decency to pull into a layby if on a single carridgeway fast road, and have a queue behind me!

Oh well, hopefully be rid of 'L's in a few weeks, and the 125 in a few months!

I do it a lot, but I overtake stuff going over 30, in a 30, and then slow them down, because it is fun Cool

If he was an idiot driver I reckon you would prefer him to be in front of you rather than up your arse. If an incident had happened on the street you wouldn’t have wanted him coming into the back of you I suppose.

with car drivers esp males

its all to do with them having a small penis... they know anything with L plates... (except the race reps)

...will be slow

so as they allways get overtaken by real bikes, they feel the need to overtake the little guy to make them feel like they have a penis!

so thats why i am gonna pass my test and get a real bike!

It's a fair assumption to make that anything with L plates is going to be slower than other traffic. And having L plates makes it more fun to beat them away from traffic lights. Smile

Yes, I agree that it can be annoying (and it happens when I'm driving a car - probably because it's my mum's Jazz...)...people assume that you'll be incapable of travelling at a "proper" speed.

Having said that, I find myself doing the same thing to cyclists in town. The principle is slightly different, because you know for sure that they'd be incapable of reaching certain speeds, but it's when you (I) overtake them whilst knowing full well that they'd just filter past you again at the traffic lights...and then you could be stuck behind them again...

My favourite game when somebody has been tailgateing is to wait till i know there is a gasto arorund the corner, go 5mph under the limmit and let them scream past, only to get had Twisted Evil Not really a good idea but ooooh its funny. (extra points for overtakeing them at the next nsl or in traffic)

At the end of the day its better to have twats like that in front where you can see what they are doing then them on your rear mudguard, if they want a speeding tickett let them have one, i'm not going to go out of my way to impress turds farmers like that.

Allot of it is with haveing an Lplate, people react completely differently, maybe i look meaner on a 500twin? the same is true of Lplates on cars.

I hate to say it but the allot of drivers (and a very small number of riders too i'm affraid) get some sort of kick out of annoying learners, not leaveing propper spaces, stupid overtakes, guess it makes them feel big and clever Rolling Eyes
It would be interesting to see how many of these people would pass if they were forced to have a retest, that would sort out conjestion quite quickly.

I will over take a learner but I remember how scary being a learner was so I will do it only where it is safe to do so and isnt going to freak them out by being to close etc.
