Yeah...i know...facepalm Killa... 
I’ve made searches on here but I’m not finding the info I’m after really.
Thing is, I’m really picky when it comes to buying tech, I hate products claims to be superb when they really are pap.
There is no way I can mount my mobile phone on my bike or helmet in a way which is decent. I have a Sony Xperia, the thing is, the quality whilst moving is great and the sound quality is equally as good. After searching on Amazon for the sort of camera I want, they either have no reviews or the reviews they have are a bit brief, or that the sound quality for example isn’t up to much. Now when these cameras are listed at somewhere in the region of £100, I would expect some really good sound quality too.
So to be specific. I’d like a camera which has good quality, I’m assuming I go for a HD cam. I need the sound to pick up low frequencies as well as a decent mid range. I do not want a camera which sounds like a late 90’d mobile phone clip.
As well as this I’d like USB or a recognised memory format. So a memory card I can pop into my PC or something. Mountings wise, I not so clued up here, i guess after buying the camera you have F all to mount it with, so advice on this please. The idea is that i can use the camera to make videos in high quality of my bike and the riding. I’m going to be editing it for a short film type thing.
The budget is limited, I think I could squeeze up to £150. If there is a brilliant camera for a little extra, well i could be tempted but I’m sure £150 could get me some good kit.

Sound wise you really need a seperate mic, so it can be mounted out of the wind.
Which is why sound is so poor on the cheap cams.
Could look @ Dogcam Bullet HD Bike £110

+1 on the GoPro ! Fantastic bit of tech.
Rugged, compact, inbuilt mic, HD Standard - has a fantastic range of accessories for mounting etc.
Used on all of my Skydive jumps.

A friend has recently purchased one of the ones below, Even has a wireless remote for start stop etc. Will be getting one myself in the very near future. Extra batteries are available and will take a 32gb sdcard, has usb and mini hdmi (av out). also a nice lcd screen so you can actually line up the view so you know that your not recording the floor/sky lol. Is 1080hd or 720 etc etc, has 60fps setting aswell for slowmo shots

Low light, forget it. Audio quality, forget it. External MIC, forget it. Image stabilisation, forget it.
Unless you are planning to attach this to a Car and drive fast, and you don't mind the complete lack of stabilisation of your footage, forget it. Seen better, used better. This is getting returned.
I mean, really?! 
Makes it sound as i described in my OP. Advertised as great, looks shite. There's also a review commenting on the aspect ratio...
Well, I'm not overly impressed with this camera I have to say. It's bulky and not very easy to mount. The highest resolution is 4:3 aspect ratio (useless) and at 720p it will only do 30fps. My friend had the proper GoPro HD camera which does 1080p and the video quality is great. If you take away the 1080p video quality from a gopro then you're just left with a bit of an ugly looking camera with average video quality.
So it looks like it would pay to spend that little extra...
Oh and Pedd...that looks great!

Go pro was all the rage and still is but peeps (vloggers) seem to really like the Drift.

Well, judge for yourself, lots of vloggers use them. If you're planning to do a lot of editing with the footage, get an external sound recorder clap when you start taking the video to sync sound and picture and then splice them together on the pc.
As for image stabiiisation I'm not 100% but if a go pro was strapped to a car dash then yes it might be bumpy, but the body, neck and all absorbs a lot of the shock when its on your helmet. Low light, well if thats was to be a priority for you you need to spend a LOT more than £100 quid.
That said although I don't own a cam I'm not a huge fan of the go pro, but rather of the contour series of cameras. I'm a massive fan of the picture it gives and even more so of the look of the thing. Again no external mic but a damn fine looking cam!
This is all matter of opinion however

I’m going to be buying one in about 15 days time, so I’ve still got time to research.
What’s bugging me now, I know how the cameras fair up image wise, but the sound is questionable. Why is it on some videos on Youtube it sounds like the Drift is inside a toilet bowl and then on other videos, the sound is brilliant 
Is it really that hard to make a mic that’s capable anyway, I mean as I said, my Sony Xperia X10 phone for example was used to create the video of my TL and the sound is great.
I don’t really fancy spending all this money on a camera dedicated for this kind of use to only have to spend truck loads more making it better.

Another forum I'm on recently came up with this. They do an HD one and a regular one. Not cheap but look good. I don't have one and have never seen one, so can only go by what they say and footage I have seen from them (and from users on YouTube).

Well, i wanted something that i can run of the 12v and tuck behind my fairing, i have the GPZ500s so there are two openings at the front of the fairing and what i wanted to do was attach a cam there on the fairing bracket viewing out of the front hole, keeping it waterproof(as in no water on lens when shooting-not as in protection as the drift i'm sure is capable in that section), and discreet.
I bought the Drift, and ended up using it for the test run attaching it to the fork as it wouldn't go where i had planned on putting it. It's a shame really, it's just too big imho. If i'd have known that, then i probably wouldn't have bought it, the quality of the pictures are pretty damn good!, and the fisheye, is the perfect angle, however, just not for me.
I like the look of the XD1080 that someone posted, but i think it's pre order. I may look into bullet cams, as i think that's what's going to cater for my needs. Just need a reliable, decently priced one that can run off the 12v and record at the same time.
