That showed though.
Should have been watching her and going a bit slower.
No good being 'in the right' when you have a wrecked bike and broken leg.

School boy error to my mind.

If he was going to pass he should have done it further back, or sat tight and waited for the van to get out of the way.

Overtaking at junctions is a bit of a no no.

AND he's got a stick on mohawk thing on his helmet. Laughing

Had that sort of close call not too long ago, in the rain. No cars in the opposite lane, but a stand still on mine. Thank God he stopped so I could go round him. Did shit my pants, but my own fault. Was raining as well so my rear tyre was sliding all over the place.

Don't know really who's fault it would have been in case of an accident.

Sure, she shouldn't have pulled out until she was sure that the road was clear ahead but equally, when you are an experienced rider (which I am not) or driver (which I am, doing about 50K a year) you spot these situations developing a mile away and can plan for them.

indeed.

never presume anything. in his comments he says he moved over so she could see him. well i couldnt see her in the vid and you cant presume she has seen you.

presumption the mother of all f***ups.

he should have prepared for her to pull out and slowed down, and saying that dropped back from the van as well to give a lot more room.

accelerating to go past a turning vehicle when another is waiting to pull out. recipe for disaster there.

Shouldn't have been so close to the post van, you've got to assume people will just pull out and ride accordingly.

To echo earlier posts, yeah that was entirely her fault, she should have made sure nothing was coming but he was still a muppet for not assuming she would actually do it.

Like everyone says, assume cagers are out to kill you, so in that situation I would of waited until the van completed the turn to make 100% sure the white van lady wouldn't pull out, and if she did, it wouldn't take much to stop safely and would of been a case of "saw that coming" and carry on with your day. 50/50 really like one of the comments says, she shouldn't have pulled out so quickly and he shouldn't have started to over take, plus he was blatantly not visible to her until it was too late, even if she slammed the brakes mid turn on he'd have had to swerve.

He was going too fast and was too close to the vehicle in front. His riding skills need working upon.

Awful riding

He should have seen that coming loads earlier, it was obvious there was a danger She was going to pull out like she did.

As everyone else has said He should have either gone round the van earlier or slowed down more.

While he might be technically 'In the Right' that she shouldn't have pulled out, at the end of the day he's the one going head first into the side of Her van, so he needs to ride more defensively or alternatively end up ranting about cagers from his hospital bed.

Whilst he had some anticipation there, as he saw the bird, as i could not really in the vid, he should of hanged back, like a good 50 metres behind the red van.

He the would of been more visible to the woman, plenty of time and speed to get to your destination after the junction.

Also he rides a sv and predictably, sounds like he likes to bum. Rolling Eyes Idea

Confused

Don't think anyone's said it was her fault?? Mostly said it was down to the rider....

What a cock, at most she was 50% to blame.

Fair enough her negligence nearly caused him to crash, but once she pulls over and says sorry straight away there's no need in swearing and giving her shit like that. At most I would've told her to open her fucking eyes and rode off, bet he wouldn't have give such mouth if it was a big black bodybuilder. Tosser!

I meant that he was a muppet for not assuming.
Having read it back I worded it rather badly. Thumbs Up
