Quick CBT question.

Hey guys.

I've now got about £800 towards my YBR125.

I'll probably have funds to get on the road by mid December.
However, depending on how bad the weather is this Winter, I may wait until the Spring to buy my bike. I'm not sure Winter is the best time to be learning. Or does it not make a that big a difference, besides comfort?

Anyway, my question is this. Would you recommend doing my CBT in December/Spring, or could I do it now? Would I be likely to forget everything in a month or two without riding?

Winter is a good time for bike bargains I'd do everything as soon as you can afford it & get some experience of riding in the not-so-good weather.

That's a good point! Do you think that'd make a difference then buying second hand?

For what its worth, I bought a second hand ybr this january and was riding by febuary. I wouldnt recommend riding in snow/ice obviously as a newbie but a little rain and cold weather wont hurt and is also an education. It effects not only your vision and traction but reduces visibility and traction for car drivers, so bare that in mind too.
I would definitely buy second hand, and prices go down a little in winter but everything has its value at the end of the day, and a well looked after, newish, ybr will always cost about the same [£800 - £1300 roughly]. The only real bargains are if you know your stuff and can fix one up cheaply/free or dont mind an older bike, which will prob run just as well as newer ybr if you take care of it anyway (though higher maintenance costs).
Waiting a while between doing your CBT and riding your own bike is probably not a good idea as there is a lot to learn, especially if you dont drive a car already. Either get it done a.s.a.p. or wait till after the snow n xmas.

Anyway, whatever you do, good luck....it's fucking great whatever the weather !!!!!
