It was on crime watch last night

Robbers pose as cops in ummarked car, ask him to get in the back. Thats it Shocked

the debate of stopping for unmarked cars comes up quite a lot on here

I definitely wouldnt stop if it was quiet. Not that anyone would want all of my possessions, most of which being 2k worth of bike Laughing

If that happens to you, it's to kill you or to earn / rob many thousands. Not to nik a bike worth a few grand.

If the copper's not in uniform, you don't have to stop. If it's after dark, you are entirely within your rights to drive to the nearest police station before stopping.

In practical terms, if they're a genuine copper and you're not stopping then chances are you'll be joined in very short order by a marked vehicle, which should answer any concerns about authenticity!

STRANGER DANGER!

If you are in any doubt, pull over, but don't let them box you in. Shout "Show me your warrant card" as they get out of the car, adding a "please" if you're that way inclined. If they don't, belt it to the nearest cop shop.

Better yet, take off your helmet. A real cop car will back off. Villains will ram you and kill you. Then you'll know. Wink

it was the manager of the securitas depot that got hit a while back

hardly a random stranger on his way home from work, i don't think your average joe need to worry about been grabbed by fake cops when he's going about his daily business.

Most incidents of fake cops are chaps with an alleged aversion to bricked domiciles, who like to rip off old duffers like the scum they are.

As said above, if you are at all dubious head for the nearest nick at legal speeds. An unmarked unit will put up a 'fail to stop' on the main set radio and marked units will come belting up. As long as you stop for them you have committed no offence.
